Dear Parents and Guardians,
The final month of school is upon us. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for an incredible year. I am truly honored to be part of this school community. I believe that it takes a village to raise a child. Parents, teachers, support staff, community and administration all play a part in helping our students meet and exceed our expectations of them. The support we have received as a school through each new phase of the year has been humbling and inspiring.
Spring is in the air and we have a jam packed schedule!! Please mark the following dates/events on your calendar:
The Week of May 2nd - 6th we will celebrate our teachers and staff during “Teacher Appreciation Week”. They work so hard for you and we want to thank them with your help. Each day next week the PTA has a theme for you to participate in. These are small, thoughtful gifts that should be easy to find and deliver each day.
May 2nd - Write a thank you note to you teacher
May 3rd - Bring a flower (vases will be provided at school)
May 4th - Surprise them with a treat
May 5th - Bring a school supply your teacher needs in their classroom
May 6th - Write a pledge of something you are willing to do to help make their classroom better
During the month of April our 3rd-6th grade students have been demonstrating their mastery in Writing, Math and Language Arts on the State RISE Assessments. They will finish up their RISE Science Assessment during the week of May 2nd-6th.
May 9th-13th our Kindergarten-2nd grade students will have their chance to show off as they take their end of level assessments. We will round up our testing sessions during the week of May 16th-20th with the Kindergarten-6th grade Acadience Reading and Math Assessments. Thank you for ensuring your child gets a good night's rest, a healthy breakfast and is to school on time and ready to show us what they know!
We will have our final PTA meeting on Friday, April 13, 2022 at 9:00. Our PTA meets monthly and supports our school with many events and activities. Our PTA president Robyn Stark will continue as our PTA president through the 2022-2023 school year but we are in need of a PTA President Elect. If you, or someone you know may be interested please have them reach out to Tricia Taylor, email@example.com and she will help to connect you to Robyn.
We are in need of a School Community Council President and Vice President. Serving on our School Community Council is a wonderful way for parents and teachers to contribute and help improve academic performance at our school. The school receives an annual dividend from the school trust lands. Our council decides how these funds will be used. This year our school received $73,652 from the School LAND Trust Program. If you are interested in taking a leadership role or being a part of our School Community Council please see the Community Council Candidate Form at the end of this letter.
The final School Community meeting for the current school year will be held on May 19, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
